EnvRelay Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of EnvRelay. By creating an account or using the product you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you are acting on behalf of a company, you represent that you have authority to bind it.

1. Service Overview

EnvRelay encrypts environment variables client-side and stores only ciphertext plus limited metadata. We deliver the service “as is” and may update features, interfaces, or dependencies at any time to maintain security and reliability.

2. Eligibility & Accounts

• You must be at least 18 years old or the age of majority in your jurisdiction.
• Account credentials are for your exclusive use—do not share them with others.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your device keys and any passphrases required to decrypt your data.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the service. Prohibited behaviour includes:

• Uploading malicious code, credentials you do not own, or other unlawful material.
• Attempting to bypass rate limits, authentication policies, or encryption safeguards.
• Reverse engineering or probing the service in ways that could degrade availability for other users.

4. Data Ownership & Confidentiality

• You retain ownership of the environment variables and metadata you store inEnvRelay.
• The platform stores only encrypted payloads and operational metadata (timestamps, IP addresses, usage counters) required to deliver the service.
• We do not access or disclose the plaintext contents of your environment variables.

5. Security Commitments

• All environment payloads are encrypted in your browser before transmission.
• Share links require possession of the secret fragment; we never persist the decryption key.
• We may temporarily suspend access to protect the service or resolve security incidents.

6. Third-Party Services

EnvRelay may integrate with third-party providers (for example, hosting, authentication, or analytics). Those services are governed by their own terms, and you are responsible for reviewing them.

7. Beta Features

From time to time we may offer preview functionality. Beta features may change, break, or be removed without notice. We provide beta access with no guarantees of availability or support.

8. Termination

• You may stop usingEnvRelay at any time, and you can request account deletion through support.
• We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or if continued service poses risk to other users.
• Upon termination we will delete associated encrypted payloads within a commercially reasonable timeframe, subject to legal obligations.

9. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

• Except as required by law, the service is provided without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement.
• To the fullest extent permitted, our aggregate liability for any claim related to these Terms or the service is limited to the greater of US$100 or the amount you paid us in the preceding six months.
• We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect new functionality, legal requirements, or security practices. Material changes will be communicated through the app or by email. Your continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
